The mission
By day, I’m a passionate moving image archivist working with incredible people all dedicated to our mission in an amazing workplace. By night, I’m an anxious and grieving person who needed to channel those energies into something. After trying a bunch of different creative hobbies, crochet turned out to be the best fit for me.
This hobby has helped me so much that I wanted to find a way to pay it back a little. One of my non-professional passions in life is fostering cats and kittens for my local animal shelter, so I am hoping to raise some money for that organization, the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA.
I recently lost my beloved sister Barb to suicide after a brief but intense struggle with mental illness. It’s so hard to think of how much pain she was in and all the other people and their families who are experiencing this kind of pain. I intend to donate proceeds from my sales to HopeLink Behavioral Health, a northern Virginia partner of the 988 suicide prevention lifeline.
